Steam and more Steam

Our local district energy plant had a pipe or valve rupture in downtown Duluth this afternoon. While I think district energy is a great way for communities to share in the cost of providing energy for areas with enough density, the age of many of these system can be an issue. While we don't know what the reason is for this failure, age is something I expect will be a concern. No reports of anyone hurt but certainly there was property damage, including cars displaced by the force of the steam release.
